To retrieve the model year of your engine, open the file and go to the line (or paragraph) corresponding to the engine model. Select the column with a serial number that is slightly lower than that of your engine. In the column nearby you will find the first serial number of the following model year. If your serial number falls between the two, your engine was built in the year selected.
For example: your engine is a 50, three cylinders, and two-stroke, with serial number 0P096282. The closest you find is 0P095159 in the 2001 column. If you look in the 2002 column, the first serial number is 0P154480. This means that your engine is from 2001 model year. Each list is made up in a similar way.
Note that some numbers for outboard engines between 1986 and 1989 are missing. We apologise for this. We are working to try to solve the problem.
